Located at the junction ofBaiyun District and Huadu District in Guangzhou, the New Baiyun International Airport is one of the eight new scenic spots in Huadu District. It was completed on August 5th, 2004. It is by far the first airport designed and constructed according to pivot airport concept in China. The appearance design of the terminal building presents a circulating integral style of slow arc, which is full of dynamic sense of science and technology, with steel structure roof truss and point glass curtain wall enclosing structure adopted. The 100 square kilometers point glass curtain wall of the terminal building is one of the largest areas of point glass curtain wall in the world. With an area of 15 square kilometers, the airport is beautiful in shape, broad in space and scientific in layout. The 112-meter-tall control tower, which is the highest of all airports in Asian, adopts the most advanced navigation lights in the world. All in all, several facilities of the airport have taken the lead of China. By now, Baiyun International Airport has established business contact with 68 airline companies, launched more than 200 flights, led to over 180 cities, and boasted nearly 30 kinds of support models. The annual passenger volume is over 50 million, which contributes to making Baiyun International Airport a base airfield for China Southern Airlines Group Corporation and Shenzhen Airlines. Putting to use the New Baiyun International Airport has drawn the distance closer between Huadu and the world, flew "the dream ofbuilding an airport" in Huadu, and also created opportunities for the development ofHuadu's economy.
