On January 29, Guangzhou held a signing and commencement event themed “Seize the Opportunity & Make a Good Start” for the major projects in the first quarter of 2023. In the first quarter, the city started and signed more than 460 projects, with a total investment of more than 680 billion Yuan. Among them, two major projects are in Huadu District.

　　It is learnt that in 2023, Guangzhou arranged 1722 key projects, with a total investment of about 6.6 trillion Yuan. At the event on the 29^th, more than 460 projects are started or signed, among which more than 280 are started and 180 are signed, with a total investment of over 680 billion Yuan. The projects are related to intelligent manufacturing, digital economy, high-end finance, cultural creativity, major infrastructure and other fields. Among them, 34 projects have a total investment of more than 5 billion Yuan, including Farasis Energy, Rongjie lithium-ion battery and Wanyang Technology Innovation City, which have been promoted to be built in Huangpu, Nansha and Zengcheng national development zones.

　　The key projects started and signed in Huadu District are respectively the Equinox research, production and marketing headquarters project and Meituan Greater Bay Area retail technology industry project. The former is located in Huadong Town, Huadu District, with a total land area of about 96.6 mu(6.4 ha.), a total investment of 1 billion Yuan, and an annual investment of 200 million Yuan in 2023, and plans to build a comprehensive headquarters, including the company headquarters, research and development center and sales center. Guangdong Equinox Biotech Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise engaged in the research and development of biomedicine technology, with the main products as molecular biology rapid detection reagents, chemical drugs, biological reagent film. Upon the completion of the project, the enterprise will play an important role in the guarantee and reserve of nucleic acid and antigen detection ability of Guangzhou, and promote the development of biological pharmaceutical industry cluster in Huadu District.

　　Meituan Greater Bay Area retail technology industry base project is located in Chatang Industrial Park, Tanbu Town, Huadu District, covering an area of about 185 mu(12.3 ha.), with a total investment of 2 billion Yuan and a planned investment of 200 million Yuan in 2023. The project will take prepared dishes and fresh food as the main products, upgrade the whole link of its supply chain from the source to the consumer, and build a modern industrial park integrating production, processing, circulation and trading functions. The specific functions of the project include robot automatic distribution center, intelligent cold chain production and processing center, retail technology incubation center, product trading and settlement center, industrial service supporting center, etc. Upon completion, the project will become a food and fresh food supply chain base and industrial development highland covering the whole Greater Bay Area with an expected annual revenue of more than 10 billion Yuan.
