On March 1, a meeting was held in Huadu for the launch of the special project of "Nutritious and Healthy Food Creation”, one of the R&D projects of Guangdong province in key sectors, which is led by Guangzhou Guomeiwei Food Co., Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guangzhou Pilot Food Co., Ltd.

　　Since 2022, Huadu District has been in full implementation of the "Strategy of Accelerating Innovation-driven Development " proposed in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and fixating on shaping the new industrial development pattern of "One District, One Town and One Port" and achieving the goal of "Intelligent Manufacturing-supported District”, the District has implemented a plan to multiply the players in scientific and technological innovation, endeavored to attract high-end scientific research platform resources, strengthened participation in the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, created a "1+5+N" service system for the science and technology service incubation plan, empowered the transformation and upgrading of the industrial chain by further improving the whole ecological chain of scientific and technological innovation, so as to lead high-quality industry development.

　　The special project of "Nutritious and Healthy Food Creation” aims to combine fruits unique to Lingnan Region with Chinese tea culture, and to do so, joint effort will be made to tackle some key technologies involved in the processing of Lingnan fruits, vegetables, and tea, relevant production lines will be established, innovative tea products will be developed, and technologies and applications will be demonstrated to the industry; all these are directed at one purpose, to lead high-quality industry development with scientific and technological innovations and help rural revitalization.

　　Guangzhou Pilot Food Co., Ltd., the lead enterprise in this project, is a ready-made tea and raw material manufacturer that integrates R&D, manufacturing, sales and service, and is committed to building an supply chain ecosystem from upstream to downstream in the tea beverage industry. The company is equipped with fully automatic equipment production lines, a technical R&D team of more than 100 people, 3 R&D laboratories, and 5 production plants; its products range across a variety of fields, from frozen fruit and vegetable products, starch products, gel seasonings, and sugars, to solid beverages, fruit juice jams and others; and it is the owner of more than 30 patented technologies. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Guangzhou Guomeiwei Food Co., Ltd, is an adherent of the "technology-driven" business policy, which has been dedicated to fruit deep processing, and has been showered with such honors as national high-tech enterprise, Guangdong leading agricultural enterprise, and "Cantonese Brand" agricultural brand. The person in charge of the Pilot Group indicated at the meeting that bearing in mind the idea that science and technology constitute a primary productive force, the Group in recent years has treated R&D and innovation as the core driving force for development, and firmly planting its feet in tea raw material industry, continuously improved its own R&D capabilities and technical levels, developed innovative and cost-effective products that meet market demands, and strived to contribute to China’s leading position in world tea market.

　　Moving forward, the Bureau of Science, Industry, Commerce and Information Technology of Huadu District will continue to fixate on shaping the new industrial development pattern of "One District, One Town and One Port" and achieving the goal of "Intelligent Manufacturing-supported District” and vigorously implement a plan to optimize the climate for scientific and technological innovation, in which activities such as innovation and entrepreneurship road shows, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and financing docking between technology and financial entities will be employed to create a climate for innovation and entrepreneurship in which talents understand innovation, enterprises love innovation, and institutions are happy with innovation, and eventually achieve the goal of leading high-quality industry development with scientific and technological innovations.
